PDA WEST COAST CHAPTER

Networking the San Francisco Bay Biotech Community

Our chapter has been active for many years, and we welcome participation from all local folks involved in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, academic, and government organizations with a desire to learn more about issues facing the industry. The national PDA also offers training courses, a journal, a newsletter, and many other documents of interest.

Our meetings are open to members and non-members alike.

MESSAGE FROM THE WCC PDA PRESIDENT

Happy New Year! Thank you for your continued support and participation in the West Coast Chapter of the Parenteral Drug Association (WCCPDA).

WCCPDA is dedicated to supporting the careers of local pharmaceutical and biotechnology professionals by focusing program content on quality/compliance/regulatory updates and initiatives, science and technology innovation, as well as offering informal networking opportunities and providing a forum to help contribute to and influence the advancement of science and regulation in the industry. WCCPDA seeks to accomplish this by offering the Professional Dinner Meeting Series that features 3‑6 sponsored events each year. Our continued success depends upon your input and participation. Our activities are targeted to create a forum to discuss current industry practices and to share our experiences. We are also committed to working with Global PDA for the success of the Chapter and PDA in general.

WCCPDA is a 501(c)6 non-profit organization run by a volunteer staff of elected officers and members-at-large. We have an active, enthusiastic, dedicated, and committed Chapter Board in place for 2012. Elaine Eborall, President-Elect, will be supporting my efforts this year before she assumes her Presidency role in January 2013. Beth Keij is our Chapter Secretary and we welcome Milan Crnogorac as the new Treasurer for 2012. We are very fortunate to have an extended and experienced Members-at-Large group on our Board, consisting of Munira Jamil, Gregory Meyers, Lisa Milano, Melissa Morandi, Kris Nordhoff, Michael Place, Peter Rauenbuehler, Randall Tedder, and Vincent Wu. Randall is also our Chapter Webmaster and Kris handles Event Logistics and Registrations in addition to their other roles. I thank the Board for their generous contribution of time and dedication to the chapter.

WCCPDA is always looking for sponsors for our dinner meetings. Sponsorships support the Reception/Networking Hour for WCCPDA events, help hold down costs for attendees, and are a great opportunity for vendor/service companies to get exposure to PDA and its members. As a sponsor, you get to strengthen your brand image, increase your visibility, and gain access to leaders in the pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing industry. Let us know if you are interested in sponsoring any events this year.

Are you on LinkedIn? We have our own group, PDA West Coast Chapter. We welcome all supporters of WCCPDA to join this group so you can be up-to-date on chapter events, polls, announcements, and discussions.

We are looking forward to an exciting new year. Please feel free to contact me directly at eleininger@ymail.com with your suggestions and feedback.

Yours kindly,

Lizzie
